The Bristol Bay is the largest ship assigned to Coast Guard Base Detroit , located at the foot of Mt. Elliot Street on the Detroit River. The ship operates year round, providing ice-breaking in winter, installing and removing navigation aids in spring and fall, and undertaking a variety of operations in the summer.
