Scott - With the Enertia, you are 400 rpms under WOT (6200). I would say drop 2" of pitch which may gain you another 2-3 mph. Then again.... Can you go up a hole? Typically Mercs can go up one more than typical due to a midsection (per LHG), hence the 5 hole layout rather than the typical 4. T...

[The stencil number on a 1971 Boston Whaler OUTRAGE 21 is] located in the rear sump (drain) area). Look under the rear deck. There is a sump area. The stencil should be right on the front of it. The motor was touted as big displacement for the HP when released. How would you then pump up the HP with the same displacement without contradicting yourself? Not sure if more cubes could be added to that particular block. It may have been touted as big displacement for the power. A dubious enough...

I agree it's going to be a rare boater who accumulates those hours but I did find it interesting that they saw the need to limit it. GTX was available as Sterndrive and Outboard. The difference between the Outrage and the GTX is primarily the interior. The GTX is a bow-rider style pleasure boat with two consoles and the Outrage is a center console. The Outrage will have a higher market value than the GTX.
