I have one in New Hampshire.

Re: classic 13 25hp mercury prop recommendation
Since I am here I'll ask the obvious. What pitch are you running now, and at what RPM? And how is that working out for you?
But with that boat and that power you will probably want a 13.

Re: Outboard market share
Obviously a local phenomenon. I look at my 5 boats with 6 engines. Five engines are Mercury and one OMC. Yamaha got traction when US quality was suspect but I wouldn't invest in their stock. Suzuki is underbidding them and Evinrude & Mercury are putting out some seriously nice new product. For e...

Re: Johnson/Evinrude side mount control
I'm trying to figure out how to attach a side mount OMC control to a center console pontoon type boat. It has to be attached to the starboard side of the console but of course the control is not designed to do so since it's designed to mount on the inside gunwale wall where the mount bolts enter fr...

Re: Saddle Tank Fuel Intake
I'm not familiar with saddle tanks in any way but it sounds like the tank vent is clogged. This is a common problem with in-deck tanks and it might give you something to look at until a saddle tank expert happens by. The experts are here, they just don't stop by every day. Since your boat has been r...

Re: Montauk Interior Replacement
I have a 1985 Montauk bare hull that I am preparing for paint. I also have a totally new interior, and a new power package. I am considering using an all-mahogany Nauset console and pilot seat [instead of] the traditional post-1976 Montauk molded center console and RPS. Are there any obvious proble...

They made the Sakonnet with the wooden interior on the Smirked hulls into 1977. You should have no problem.

Re: 1974 Outrage 19 likely for sale
I would love to buy that boat from you, and I am not too far from you. I also know how to restore it properly, which is why I want YOUR boat. A proper restoration starts with a boat that isn't a wreck.
I can meet with you next weekend and you tell me how much you want after I see it.

Re: 1993 MONTAUK 17 Re-power
[Moderator's Note. I deleted an ASIDE about the thread itself--jimh.] First of all, that Yamaha 90 is a favorite of Montauk owners and it will bring a premium price. If you are determined to get rid of it it would be nice if you offered it for sale on this website. It would be in your best interest ...

Re: 1980's Outrage 18 Cover
Carver is another company that makes products for Whalers. You can see them via iBoats.com. Their Outrage 17 I cover was a good product. Not sure about the Outrage 18. Here are the boats.com listings for a 1985 Outrage 18 covers: http://boatcovers.iboats.com/Boston_Whaler/18_Outrage_(1984-1990)/?ca...

Re: 13-footer Re-power with 20-HP
When I was a kid I had a 1971 13' with a Mercury 20 hp on it and it was fine, as long as it was just me or a couple of us. I didn't have a speedometer so I can't tell you what the top speed was, but it was equal to my friends 13' with a Johnson 25 hp. Back then engines were rated at the powerhead so...

The Boston Whaler Catalog Collection on CD-ROM
Does anyone know how I can purchase The Boston Whaler Catalog Collection on CD-ROM?
It just occurred to me that would be a great gift for my daughter to buy me for Christmas only to find out they aren't available.

Re: Power Saw
I am a professional trained carpenter and have been doing high end work for over 40 years. I say all that so you might place a little extra weight on what advice I have for you. You should buy a good quality circular saw, like the Makita 5007. Also purchase a speed square, a couple quick clamps and ...

Re: How to set user location?
Your link didn't work but I have no problem getting to my User Control Panel, I just don't see where I have the location setting. I know where I should see it, I have cleared cookies and logged out, and re-booted. I think I don't have the permission to have that option. I am just a registered user s...

How to set user location
I see that some people have their location showing but I don't see how to set that in my forum profile. Is it because I need to have more posts before some features are available?
