A Yamaha 50 is about 243[-lbs]; the 40 [is] 215[-lbs]. Perhaps I should set a 40[-lbs] plate on top of the existing 1998 40-HP and see how she sits.

Hello. [I am] considering a re-power for my 1997 DAUNTLESS13 that currently has an Evinrude 40-HP. Newer outboard engines seem quite a bit heavier [and] 210-lbs to 240-lbs.
The E-TEC 30 weighs 170-lbs. Would the E-TEC 30 be a good choice?
