WTB: 200 or 225-HP Four-stroke outboard in Florida
Wanted-to-buy: a 200-HP or 225-HP four-stroke outboard in Florida, but I will travel for the right deal. I am looking for a a Suzuki, Yamaha, or Mercury 25-inch-shaft 200 or 225 four-stroke engine--no VERADO. I prefer the run time to be under 1,000-hours.

Great deal in my opinion. I sold dry but very in need of a resto bare hull. No rudder, sails, or centerboard for $225 a few years ago. I would buy it if needed.

I had a classic 15-footer with a center console and a 1990 Johnson 70-HP that would run a constant 46-MPH and a top GPS SOG of 48.6-MPH without a jack plate. If you are getting less than 43- or 44-MPH you are not set up correctly.

I know it's an old post. I am running a 17-pitch SST propeller on my 115 Yamaha at four-holes-up and get a boat speed of 41-MPH at 6,000-RPM engine speed. If anyone thinks a 17-pitch propeller on a150-HP is acceptable they're insane or the OUTRAGE 18 boat has too much weight. A 150 should run around...

2019 Mercury 200-HP Instrumentation, Rigging Options
I am considering a used 2019 Mercury 3.4-liter 200-HP with 1,000-hours to repower my OUTRAGE boat. The engine would be delivered with just the engine, a propeller, and I believe the ram for hydraulic steering. I know I need the DTS controls which are close to $1,000. Outside of steering, what other ...

Depends on what you mean by needs work. A non running engine is worth maybe $500. A 6hp is worth probably about the same or more if mint. If you can't sea trial it I would say about $5,000. Trailer is not worth much as well.

Yes a new 50hp can be roughly 100lbs heavier than an older 2 stroke. The boat handles 250lbs just fine and can handle more. Friend had a 90 e-tec on his with a hydraulic jackplate that probably weighed about 375lbs combined. I have seen quite a few 15's with V4 115's on them.

If pulling skiers I would recommend a OMC SST 17-pitch propeller--easy to find on eBay.
You will want a tachometer as the engine might over-rev by a couple hundred RPM at WOT.

Boston Whaler made a couple models designed specifically for fly fishing called a CROSS TACKLE. They did not have poling platforms. They did have a custom bow rail that I think allowed you to lean against while casting.
I do not see the need for a poling platform if you have a trolling motor.
