The solution used in aviation applications appears to be a good one. However, it seems only appropriate to a castle or crenelated nut. Some, if not all, propeller nuts requiring a cotter pin are probably castle nuts. Many others are not. Thanks for the information.

Regardless of the stern drive manufacturer you choose if your boating will be in saltwater or brackish water, adding the full fresh water cooling option could improve the longevity of the engine.

When you demand first hand experience it limits the response pool. I doubt any replies would be useful. Ride is too subjective to be helpful and conditions too variable. Perhaps you could ask for a ride from someone reasonabley near you and make up your mind from that.

If the 200 HP engine is a Verado I would have it checked by a Certified Verado Technician at a Mercury dealer. The engine have been very reliable but a certified tech can print out the engine history which may have some valuable information.
