If you are seriously thinking about buying the boat for which you asked for an appraisal, I would not wait several weeks--unless the asking price is quite out of line. A popular Boston Whaler model in nice condition at a fair price will sell rapidly.

The molded-in HIN number seen in Figure 16 for c.1973 hull looks like it was done with a Dymo Tape Label printer. But I am trying to figure out how the process was accomplished. For comparison, I will use a 170 MONTAUK boat that was listed recently and sold in a very short time for $35,000 . That boat was newer, 2015, but its engine was older, also 2015. As far as the boat, as long as the condition of the 2005 boat is excellent, I do not see a great difference in value comp...
