I decided to re-power my 190 MONTAUK with a SUZUKI 140 BG. The new engine is on order. My decision was based on engine weight, cost, and anticipated performance. My initial thought was to get a 150-HP engine.
The delivery date is unknown.

Re: 190 MONTAUK Re-power SUZUKI 140BG
Thanks for this announcement. When you get the engine, have it installed, get past the break-in period, choose a propeller, and conduct on-water tests, you can start a new thread in the PERFORMANCE section.

Thanks. Will do.

Make sure the dealer installs the engine with the top bolt in the third hole down from the top.
A 14x20 Suzuki stainless steel propeller would be a good one to start testing with.

Thanks for the advice.

What year is your 190 Montauk? I believe those made before 2018 had a lower hull weight.

I have 2007 190 MONTAUK. I don’t know if it has a lower hull weight compared to the new 190 MONTAUK.
My SUZUKI DF140BG engine is at my dealer. To get the engine took one month. One month is not a bad wait time compared to the wait times for YAMAHA engines.
Re: 190 MONTAUK Re-power SUZUKI 140BG
I have a 2016 Suzuki DF140A on my 2003 190 Nantucket. It is just enough. I look forward to reading about your new boat-engine combination.
Re: 190 MONTAUK Re-power SUZUKI 140BG
I have received the SUZUKI DF140bg, the model with remote electronic throttle and shift controls. To get this engine took one month. To install this engine and to re-do the dash with a smart gauge took less than one week. Soon I will start the engine break-in procedure. In the future I will post performance data in the PERFORMANCE forum.
