Since I am now laid up for at least the remainder of the year, I may as well lay-up the 13-foot Boston Whaler. About four weeks ago while on a bicycle ride with my wife I managed to fracture a femur. My age will delay a full recovery so there is little reason to put off the boat storage for the winter.
It has been our practice to exercise the Mercury 30-HP FourStroke approximately every four weeks by running it on the house adapter to keep the fuel system from requiring repairs. I use non-ethanol fuel with preservative. My mobility decline may not allow me to do this again for a few weeks.
Is there another method of reliably maintaining the fuel system which does not involve running the engine?

Butch, up here in northern Michigan our boats sit in storage for 8 or9 months every winter.
With ethanol free fuel and stabilizer don’t worry.
Get well. Getting old ain’t for sissies.

To hear of a femur fracture from a bicycle accident is certainly worrisome. Rest and recover from that for as long as it takes.
By the second week of October I have put away the boat, the boat tow truck, and the bicycle for the winter.
The last boat ride was a short one, just about five miles, which was enough to be sure that the just purchased, just stabilized, pure-gasoline fuel would be circulated throughout the engine fuel system. The engine won't be re-started until very late May or early June. I have never had a problem with the fuel system on the Spring re-commissioning.
