Re: 190 Montauk For Sale
I saw this on the local Craigslist. Has to be a big decision for you. Boat looks great; hopefully it will sell soon.
Re: 190 Montauk For Sale
Thanks, the boat is in great shape. Old age, arthritis and three compression spinal fractures were the drivers. We'll keep the Sport 13 for futzing around.

Good luck on your sale Butch, I know it must of been a hard decision to make. I lost my wife of 25 years last week to Cancer and I seriously considered selling my 190 also, luckily I came to my senses and will hold on to my boat till my body tells me otherwise.
Again best of luck!
Fred

The Montauk sold yesterday. It was a very bitter sweet event. The sale was driven by my ageing process. I was pleased to see her go to a good home and she will have a classic Montauk 17 for company. The buyer was a nice young man from Pensacola, FL who grew up in a maritime connected family. He is a big Boston Whaler fan and a member of Continuouswave. I hope he will begin posting.
We combined a sea trial with a delivery cruise to his marina. It was lumpy out there so he was able to feel just how capable the Montauk is in imperfect conditions. I believe he enjoyed piloting the boat for the fifty odd miles as he seemed to smile for the entire cruise. My old bones were a little beaten up by the trip but enjoyed watching him having fun. During our passage through a no-wake zone we were visited by a pod of Bay Dolphins which made it a perfect goodby cruise. It was a two and a half hour sea trial.
Thank you to Phil for his valuable help with this sale. His advice and assistance were perfect.

It is always sad when you sell a Whaler. Glad it went to a good owner.
