Keel Roller Size

I'm looking to add a couple of keel rollers to my new too me bunk trailer. The boat is a 1998 Revenge 20 WT. It's powered by a single 1991 Mercury 200 hp and a 2008 Mercury 15 hp four stroke. It's loaded for salmon fishing. I can't find any 12 inch keel rollers up here in and around Toronto. Would a smaller 8 inch roller work just as well? The shaft on the roller looks about the same size as the 12 inch I currently have on the trailer. Is the wider sizes just for aiding in centering the keel on the trailer? Thanks

If you miss the roller, you can damage the keel and chines.

You should go 12" for the farthest aft crossmember.

You can go with 10" for the middle and 8" for the forward crossmember if applicable.

Wow, pricing is all over the place.

From Amazon.ca - 12"

I sourced my roller/hardware from this vendor in Florida. Not sure about shipping and duty to you.

Hope this helps.

Thanks PhilT. I am in contact with a trailer builder/supplier now only about an hours drive away.
