It was only a matter of time. The outboard powered boats just keep getting bigger and bigger with more boat in the water and high gunwales, so when on plane, you need a much longer shaft to clear the keel. I'm wondering if this is targeting twins/quads or boats powered by 3 or 5 motors.
The 35-inch shaft may be needed for the center engine in a triple-engine rig on V-hull boats.
I do not see any application of an outboard engine with a 35-inch shaft length on any classic Boston Whaler boat, unless the boat transom has been modified by eliminating the transom notch.
