I now have my rps and wish to install it on my OR18.
I have the factory leaning post now which is 17" away from the console. I plan on raising the rps at least 2" to allow for a cooler to fit underneath and to help align with the existing leaning post mounting holes.
My questions are;
1.How much space is between the console and the front of the rps seat cushion?
2.Is this space enough or do some of you wish there was more?

This is not going to really help but when I was doing this last year I took some examples and actually found a range between 18 and 22 inches. Im not certain what the factory install distance is but apparently there is a good bit of modification to suit personal needs. Im skinny and still went 22 inches for the room. i think some has to do with the pitch angle of the wheel as well. i had switched my angle shaft for a strait one which ment i needed more room between the two.

george,

I just measured my 1985 Outrage 18 and the distance is 17" from the seat cushion to the white part of the console.

I also measured my 1978 Montauk and the distance is 18" from the seat cushion to the white part of the console.

I guess their are slight variations as both mine are factory installed.

George - Recommend you raise the seat 6". This will allow an Igloo 72 qt cooler, with Whaler cushion, to fit, sitting in a pair of starboard Montauk cooler cleats.

This makes for a nice installation, and requires no bungees, etc to keep it in place.
The extra pull-out seat is nice for an 18.

See Rendezvous section for photos of my similar setup. Have same in the 25.
