Topic:   Montauk rear bench seat

posted 03-12-2000 03:54 PM ET (US)         I purchased a removable B/W rear bench seat and had it installed by the dealer in my '88 Montauk. The seat fits 3 people nicely, but it bows back a lot if any of them lean back on it. Further, the entire bench rocks backwards during a fast start or in choppy waves. Does anyone have a recommendation for strengthening or bracing the seat? I believe I saw a larger Outrage with a back seat that had a steel support (same type as the railings) that ran behind the seat. Is something like this available for the Montauk? Any input is appreciated. Thanks, Mike
