Hello, I am in the beginnings of getting a '67 Montuk up and running and have noticed that there is some softness in the deck area behind the pilot seat. I haven't weighed the boat yet, so I really don't know if it's taken any water on, but assuming it doesn't weigh too much, should I be worried? The rest of the boat is in rough shape as well, but really only needs a few repairs, some sanding, and paint. (famous last words, I know) Should I repair the soft area, and if so, how? Thanks in advance. |

I just got a 1985 outrage 18'.It to has two soft spots on the floor.I took it to two whaler service places and they pretty much told me the same thing.Its an old boat but does not see a problem,its something i could get fixed if i wanted too.He said I still had alot of years left on this boat,and if it was his boat he wouldn't fix it or worry about it.Bottom line he said it won't sink.If theres anything i could help you with let me know.psfireman@aol.com |
