I'm in search of Gibco Flexmold to match the textured deck of '69 Nauset. Minicraft asked me to trace the pattern on a piece of paper so they could match the texture. Spectrum said they had one pattern for all Boston Whalers. Has anyone had successful experience with Gibco Flexmold for deck of '69 Nauset.

Has anyone made their own mold material. I'm imagining using Pam as a release agent and trying a patch of silicone to make small tex molds.

I have read about this in an old thread. If no one responds, try searching in threads that are several months (a year?) old. I think it was either Larry (lhg) or Tom Clark that knew how to make a mold from the existing pattern.

If you find the link to that old thread, please post it here for the benefit of the rest of us. Thanks!

gansett,

The way to find answers to questions such as you posted here is a follows. Pull up the last two years of posts and do an Edit, Find in Internet Explorer. In your case, in the Repairs Forum, I entered the word gelcoat and found 51 items referring to gelcoat. Entered the word non-skid and found 9 items. You will also find answers in the Geeral forum. I find it is easiest to search for a word and write down each date that applies. Then I go back and look at each one. Below are some urls that should help you.

Molds:

Other urls that may be useful are:

When you do the research you learn so many other things at the same time, making the effort even more beneficial.
