Since it's no longer in production, I have no literature to reference. How much does the 70HP OMC two-stroke 3-cylinder engine weigh?

From the manual for a 1975 70hp Johnson:
Standard shaft - 202 lbs
Long shaft - 220 lbs

Is the standard length 20"?

The model number on the engine should tell you what length shaft you have unless it has a shaft conversion kit. The standard length is a 15" shaft.

My 1985 Eviinrude 70 HP has a model number of:
E70 ELCOS

E= Evinrude
70= 70HP
E= Electric Start
L= Long Shaft (this would be 20")
C= 8
O= 5 (these two designate the year-1985)
S= I am not sure about this one. It may be where it was manufactured???
You may also have a "T" for Trim & Tilt..

My owners manual says my engine weighs 230 lbs. I added Trim & Tilt to mine so that would add a few more pounds.

The engine in question is equipped with power trim and tilt and is a 20" shaft.
