Excessive Clearance can cause an overheat but you can pull the jet pump off and measure it. Max clearance is 0.050" so anywhere close to that could add to your problem. YES the thermostats are needed otherwise the engine will run cold. A cold 2 stroke engine will not burn all the fuel away duri...

Max wear clearance is 0.050".

The "liner" is cast into the aluminum housing and was never sold as a replacement part.

What is your clearance measurement?

Or have you just lost boat performance?

We suggest you check the plastic tee that connects the two hoses coming off the top of the cylinder heads and running over to cool the muffler.
