I just had to share. I'm a sailor who I bought my first powerboat today, and she is AMAZING! She's 24 years young, a genuine "barn find", except the barn was an air-conditioned garage. This old man kept her there since 1995 and NEVER USED HER. He finally took her out this spring, did everything that needed doing—and promptly sold her to ME. He estimated 25 hours on the boat and motor, and I believe him.
We took her out for a couple hours (in the pouring rain, of course) and could not be happier. I'm ecstatic to be a Whaler owner.
My first motorboat is a Dauntless 15

Nice find. I am a “reformed sailor” myself.

Congratulations, you just hit the lottery. I don't see too many 15's around which makes it an even more rare find. I thought I was lucky to find my 2003 160 Dauntless with 72 hours. I think you will find this site to be very helpful as you experience the boat. I haven't done anything to mine without getting advice from these folks. They've been a big help and saved me from making some costly mistakes. Enjoy!
