I am looking for a new cooler for the front of the console for my 2005 17 0 Montauk. I would like to reuse the cushion and mounting brackets so I am looking for a same size replacement. The newer [Boston Whaler supplied coolers] have changed size. [Reply with your] thoughts [on a source for a same-size replacement cooler to fit the existing brackets and cushions for a 2005 170 MONTAUK]. Thanks

Here are my thoughts:

In seeking a same-size replacement, you can probably find one in-stock at a Whaler dealer; check with TWIN CITIES MARINE, as they are very good replacement part sources, are known to be good to work with, and may have something.

Also, call Boston Whaler customer service and see what they have to say. They may tell you where to get the cooler from a retail outlet.

Finally, someone probably has figured this out; let's hope they chime in.

According to the Resources section of http://www.bostonwhaler.com/boat-ownership/resources/ the 2005 Montauk 170 came with a 72 qt cooler, the BW part # is 1691319.

According to the Resources section, the 2007 Montauk has the same size cooler with a different part #, 1016427

In later years, the Resources section does not include parts lists.

If you have the original cooler , take some measurements and compare to this:

Replacements are higher quality igloo. 72 quart.
The whaler cushion is much better than the igloo cushion, so if you can use the existing one, you will save and be happier.
