Hi. I'm in the market for a used 2007 to 2015 170 Montauk. I remember that the 2003 to 2007 version had a lower console, making it difficult to fully stand upright.

When did Boston Whaler increase the height of the 170 center console?


When did Boston Whaler make a [Mercury FOURSTROKE outboard engine] standard on the 170?

The Mercury FOURSTROKE became the standard engine in 2006, but, prior to that, there was an option for a Mercury FOURSTROKE going back to 2002.

From looking at youtube posts, it looks like in 2007 Whaler did change (minor) the 170 console. This change moved the steering wheel about 3" higher.
