Any advice or experience with the new leaning post option vs the reversible pilot seat (RPS) ?

The RPS seems more flexible and therefore more preferable, but the salesman says everybody wants the leaning post. Thanks

We have an RPS on our 190 Montauk. Our previous Dauntless 16 was also equipped with an RPS. We like the generous storage space and flexibility provided by the RPS. While underway we use the "leaning post position" ie. the center backrest position. When anchored, tied to a pier or drifting we prefer the "seat position" ie. the backrest all the way forward or all the way aft depending on what we may be doing.

A leaning post that also provides comfortable seating and ample storage may be a good alternative.

I always wanted a leaning post and when I bought my HydraSports new in 94 I checked off that option. They are great in rough water, jumping waves etc. They stink however for gunkholing as you really can sit comfortably on one even with the footrest and/or backrest. You can always put a cooler underneath for storage but the RPS is unique and for inshore boating is the best in my opinion.
