1987 Boston Whaler 17 SSL Capacity info

I noticed on this link -
http://continuouswave.com/whaler/refere ... tions.html the 17SSL is listed to have a 900lb capacity. The plate on my boat, badly faded, states 7 passengers or 885lbs. I was wondering if any other SSL owners can confirm?

The 1987 Catalog specifications index lists 900 lbs.
If your plate is different I think it due to adjustments to the finished weight of the boat being slightly different. I would not be concerned. It is only 15 lbs.
Remember that the classic models were truly "hand made" without the aid of computer mixing and foam injection machines so there was some weight variance. With technology and adoption of modern production techniques the variance has been reduced.
