I own a 1988 Temptation [2500]. How many were built? Thanks.

Boston Whaler has not in the past or present ever released sales volume for any model.

Given the Temptation series 2000, 2200 and 2500 were only in production for the 1987, 1988, and 1988 model years, the number built is relatively small. I would estimate less than 70 of all models were produced.

While listed in the catalog, I have not seen or read of a 2000 model.

The TEMPTATION series was an attempt by Boston Whaler to create what might be called "a go-fast" boat. They all used a Whaler Drive, permitting twin V6 high-horsepower engines to be used. The long covered foredeck was a style found in other "racy" boats at that time. The use of plush upholstery was also somewhat unusual in a Boston Whaler boat at that time. Most models tended toward more spartan seating.

The TEMPTATION models are built on the same hull as the OUTRAGE and REVENGE models.

As PHIL notes, there are no data about production volume for any year, series, or model. Sometimes an inference can be made from the stencil number sequence.

Many TEMPTATION models had sterndrive power. There are TEMPTATIONS out there, most I see are 2200 or 2500 models; , the 2000 models seem to be more rare.

I would not even know how to guess production numbers, but I would assume more than two TEMPTATIONS per state were sold in 3 years.
