Hello. I have been researching the 1992 Outrage 19 II and 1998 Outrage 17, and have found some great information from the old forum. I want to get more input. A 1992 Outrage 19 II and 1998 Outrage 17 are a foot apart in length, and they appear to be close in other dimensions. I am not clear on the gunwale height difference. I understand the 1998 has the AccuTrack hull and draws 2-inches more.

I'm in Buzzards Bay, Massachusets. I won't be going too far offshore. I had a 2000 17 McKee Bass & Bay Boat center console, like a Montauk, which I just sold. My goal is to be able to get out and about more than I could in the McKee.

Will I feel a significant difference [between] the way the 1992 Outrage 19 II and 1998 Outrage 17 boats handle?

The Outrage 19 could be thought of as the classic 18 with an added insert or floor and the same hull design. The Outrage 17 II has the revised Accutrack hull. The Outrage 17 II will have more freeboard.

From my experience, Buzzards Bay can get right snotty if Mother Nature has her way (went to Tabor). If it were me, I would pick the Outrage 17 II for the freeboard and hull design. Each model is a step up from the previous. The Outrage 17 II is much better than the Outrage 17 I which is a big step up from a Montauk 17.
