Identify Boston Whaler Model on YEAR and LENGTH

Postby erwinbw1 » Mon Jul 22, 2024 5:57 pm

Q1: what is the model name for a 1983 Boston Whaler boat that is 13-feet 9-inches long?

I just bought one.

Erwin--your request is kind of broad and unanswerable without some photos or a much better description of the boat in question.

Since you are new here and to Boston Whaler boats, I suggest that you go to the home page of this very site and find the "Reference Section" of the website. There is a whole section devoted to 13-foot Boston Whaler boats with photos that you can compare and assess your model.

You will find that the "Reference Section" is a valuable resource both now in your newbie stage and later on as your experience grows. As this is mostly a group of boaters with an affinity for Boston Whaler's and not researchers, it was decided to help the new guys with the "Reference Section" so they can do their own research and not get frustrated with playing 20 questions with some of the more knowledgeable members here.

We all hope to see you enjoy your new boat and contribute going forward with informative reports and photos of yourself and your boat.

Re: Where to find information on the continuousWave website about 13-footers

The forum is not the only portion of the website that has information about boats or about marine electronics.

The section of the continousWave website that deals with Boston Whaler boats is located at

https://continuouswave.com/whaler/

The section of the Boston Whaler boat area that contains long-form, well-researched articles about Boston Whaler boats is the REFERENCE section and is located at

https://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/

The section of the REFERENCE section on Boston Whaler boats that contains information about the 13-foot models is located at

https://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/13/

There are about 15 different model designators for boats that use the same 13-foot hull, so to identify the particular model based only on the notion that the hull length is about 13-feet and 9-inches is impossible.

And additional article in the 13-foot section of the REFERENCE section of the Boston Whaler section that shows photographs of certain popular models is located at

https://continuouswave.com/whaler/refer ... odels.html

The only 13-foot model who length was specified to be 13-feet 9-inches was the DAUNTLESS 13, but that model was not made in 1983, and the hull of the DAUNTLESS was not the original classic 13-foot hull.
