2015 170 MONTAUK: Rigging Tunnel to Bow

Q1: on a 2015 170 MONTAUK which does not have a factory-installed trolling motor panel at the bow, is there a rigging tunnel from the console area to the bow that carries the electrical wiring for the combined sidelights bi-color navigation lamp?

BACKSTORY
I plan to install a MINN-KOTA 24-Volt 80-lbs- thrust trolling motor on my 2015 170 MONTAUK, My boat does not have the factory installed option that creates an electrical panel at the bow.

ASIDE: I plan to remove the bow railing. I also intend to upgrade a battery to use Lithium chemistry.

[Moderator's note: this thread was moved to THE GAM from SMALL BOAT ELECTRICAL as the topic was specific to a particular Boston Whaler boat and its construction, not to the electrical elements of the installation.]

Read more about the wiring of a trolling motor at the bow of a 170 MONTAUK of the same production epoch at

Ignore the suggestions to run the cable under the rub rail.

Do NOT remove the bow rail. Add a hinged section instead.

Do not go digging around in the bow cutting a large hole. Buy the OEM trolling motor panel and use that hole to find the wiring.

For the panel, contact Nauset Marine's parts desk. parts@nausetmarine.com

Ask Justin or Derek to help you locate the wiring in the bow while you are buying the panel.
