[I am g]etting conflicting reports on compatibility of Yamaha and Mercury engine-end and tank-end fuel hose fittingfittings.

Some fitting manufacturers say [engine-end and tank-end fuel hose fittings] are they same after 1998 model year.

[Some fitting manufacturers] say the actual [engine-end and tank-end fuel hose] fittings that I have will fit both Yamaha and Mercury--but they don't.

The lock parts are different sizes

Get new fittings that work with the particular fuel tank and the particular engine you have.

I have a 2000 Yamaha 30-HP two-stroke-power-cycle engine. I share the fuel tank and hose between this engine and my 1991 Mercury 200-HP two-stroke-power-cycle engine with no difficulty. I also share the hose and tank from my 2006 Mercury 15HP FOURSTROKE with the 2000 Yamaha 30-HP with no difficulty.
