My 1984 OUTRAGE 18 Port hull side is shown below in Figure 1. Give me advice about the wavy hull side.



I have checked [the wavy area] for softness; I did not notice any softness.

The [starboard hull] side [does not have a wavy surface].

ASIDE: The fuel tank has been replaced.

If you have the federal hull identification number (HIN), the actual model year and year of production of the hull can be decoded from the HIN.

Q2: how long have you owned this hull?

Q3: was there any prior damage to the Port stern quarter area of the hull?

I doubt there is a correlation between the wavy hull side on Port quarter and the notion that the below-deck fuel tank has been replaced.

Q4: was there some special inference you were making about a possible correlation between replacement of the fuel tank and the appearance of the wavy hull on the Port stern quarter?

Q5: did the wavy hull side at the Port stern quarter appear only AFTER the fuel tank was replaced?

I have read the thread [unclear, perhaps he means he read the Q10 answer in the FAQ that was indicated above] a long time ago and I totally forgot about it.

I have a guy interested in [purchasing] the boat who isn’t well-versed on these [OUTRAGE 18 boats with wavy hull sides], and I wanted to give him insight on [the existence of the wavy hull side] that wasn’t mine.

I will send him the info from the article [unclear, perhaps means the Q10 answer in the FAQ] and let him [decide if he wants to buy the boat or not].
