Waterline Drawings for 15-footer, 11-footer

Postby marcvbuuren » Wed Jul 31, 2024 7:28 pm

I found [the drawings below in Figure 1 and Figure 2 showing the waterline for the classic 15-footer and 11-footer were an owner's] manual:

[At the transom, the suggested waterline is 1-inch above the chines. At the bow stem, the water line is 24-inches below the smirk measured on the stem.]

[The unspecified length dimension line was that way in the owner's manual.]

Great work on getting a high-resolution scan of the drawings. Thanks for taking the time to contribute this information.

Re actually painting a hull with anti-fouling paint: a better method to establish a water line for older Boston Whaler boats is to actually put the boat in the water and mark the actual waterline on the hull. The suggested waterline markings in the owner's manual may not reflect the actual waterline on a particular boat due to the effect of engine weight and other gear normally on the boat and due to possible change in the hull weight.

For advice on preparation for application of anti-fouling paint, see the reproduction of the c.1980 Owner's Manual for 9 to 17-foot hull in the REFERENCE section at

https://continuouswave.com/whaler/refer ... tml#bottom

There you will also find detailed drawings showing the suggested water lines for the 13-foot and 17-foot hulls.
