Q1: is a weight of a 1968 NAUSET 16 of 1,722-lbs including 250-lbs for Yamaha F50 engine, Bimini top, full fuel tank and gear, without stern seating, and as measured by a "drystack" a reasonable weight or a cause for concern?
BACKSTORY
I recently purchased a 1968 NAUSET 16 from an out-of-state seller. I’m now transporting it to my home state via a third party service.
I was surprised to learn the listed weight of the vessel is 1,722 pounds. Upon receipt of the boat, I plan to weigh it myself.
1968 NAUSET 16 Total Boat Weight
Re: 1968 NAUSET 16 Total Boat Weight
A rough estimate of the weight of a NAUSET 16 might be as follows:
Q2: Is a trailer included in the "listed" weight?
A trailer would easily add 500-lbs to the total load weight of a boat being transported, so the total weight would be 1,770-lbs, or quite close to the figure you have been given.
- 600-lbs bare hull
- 200-lbs wood interior components and rigging
- 250-lbs engine
- 120-lbs fuel on board
- 100-lbs gear on board

Appreciate the breakdown. That’s more inline with my expectations. Previous owner never trailered it, but maybe the drystack included trailer weight when and however they officially weighed it.
I’ll follow up with an updated weight.
